Security systems fail quietly. A camera that stopped uploading and an alarm panel that dropped off the network both look fine from the gate; the loss shows up when someone goes to review the footage. Video is the expensive part. Continuous IP streams from a remote yard, substation, or construction site move far more data than a sensor does, and that cost usually decides whether a site gets covered at all. Managed M2M SIMs on pooled plans let camera sites draw from a shared allowance, with per-device usage visible so a misconfigured stream is caught in the billing cycle it happens in.
