Solar Energy Management & Edge Connectivity

Overview

A solar plant runs inverters, string monitors, and battery controllers that need a live link to the energy-management platform. An edge router at the site processes local data and backhauls it over cellular, so generation and storage are monitored and controlled remotely without laying fibre to the array.

Challenges

  • Solar arrays sit on remote land with no fixed connection
  • Inverters and controllers speak industrial protocols, not plain IP
  • Generation and battery data must reach the management platform continuously
  • A dropped link hides faults that cut yield

Benefits

  • Edge processing and cellular backhaul at the array
  • Continuous inverter, string, and battery telemetry
  • Remote monitoring and control without civil works
  • Fast fault visibility to protect generation yield
