Water & Wastewater SCADA Connectivity
Overview
Remote pumping stations and wastewater substations report to a central SCADA over Modbus, CAN bus, and RS-485 on a cellular link with dual-SIM failover. The router bridges legacy field controllers to IP so operators keep remote visibility and control without a truck roll to every station.
Challenges
- Substations and pumping stations sit far from any wired network
- Field controllers use Modbus, CAN bus, and RS-485, not IP
- Manual station checks waste fuel and crew time
- A dropped link means loss of remote control
Benefits
- Modbus, CAN bus, and RS-485 bridged to cellular SCADA
- Dual-SIM failover keeps control online
- Remote monitoring and control of distributed stations
- Fewer site visits to inspect and reset equipment
Recommended Products

RUT204
CAN FD and GNSS on board make the RUT204 a fit for vehicles and mobile assets rather than a fixed cabinet. Dual-SIM auto-failover keeps the link up as coverage changes, and RS232 plus two Ethernet ports connect the equipment already on the machine.

RUT206
Serial equipment is what the RUT206 exists for: RS232 and RS485 alongside 4G LTE Cat 4 and dual-SIM failover. It accepts both active and passive PoE, and a 2-pin power input suits an industrial cabinet.
- CONNECTIVITY - 4G Cat 4, 3G, 2G
- SERIAL INTERFACES - RS232 & RS485 for serial communication
- 2-PIN POWER INPUT - Simple and suitable for industrial applications

RUT956
The RUT956 is a 4G LTE Cat 4 industrial router with dual SIM for automatic failover and four Ethernet ports. OpenVPN, IPsec, and DMVPN secure remote sites, and dual SIM keeps fixed installations and machine-to-machine links online when one network drops.
- CONNECTIVITY - 4G LTE (Cat 4), 3G, 2G
- DUAL SIM - With auto failover, backup WAN and other switching scenarios
- MULTIPLE INTERFACES - Ethernet, Serial (RS232, RS485) and multiple Inputs/Outputs

TRB256
For endpoints that send little and must last, the TRB256 runs LTE Cat M1 and NB-IoT, including the 450 MHz band. Dual SIM, Ethernet, serial and I/O all terminate on a 16-pin terminal block.
- CONNECTIVITY - 4G/LTE Cat M1/Cat NB1, NB2/EGPRS
- DUAL SIM - Auto-failover, backup WAN, and more switching scenarios
- INTERFACES - Ethernet, I/Os, and Serial (RS232, RS485) interfaces with 16-pin terminal block
