Smart Cities & Public Sector
Connectivity for smart-city and public infrastructure — smart parking, street lighting, environmental sensors, waste management, and public-safety devices.

Overview
A municipal deployment is not a bigger version of a small one. Ten thousand parking bays, street lights, bin sensors, and air-quality monitors change what matters: cost per device, battery life measured in years, and whether one person can see the state of the whole fleet. NB-IoT covers most street-level hardware. Devices send small packets on a schedule, draw little enough power to run for years without a maintenance visit, and hold signal in basements, culverts, and cabinets where a standard cellular module drops out. Heavier endpoints run on pooled M2M SIMs from Saudi carriers on the same account, with allocation moving as usage settles rather than each department holding its own over-provisioned plan. The municipal fleet is its own programme. Waste collection routes are optimised against container fill, RFID and BLE tags track the containers themselves, and truck loading and axle weight are monitored on the vehicle. Public transit and shuttle operations run on passenger counting and smart bus stops, and intelligent transportation systems handle the traffic layer above them. Utilities and public buildings close the loop: radar level and flow instrumentation on reservoirs and water networks, and access control, visitor management, and attendance across depots, offices, and civic sites.
