Snapshot

A Smart School Bus platform for AlHussan Education Group spanning 13 schools and serving 4,000 students on 250 buses. IPTech delivered fleet tracking, student commute monitoring with real-time attendance on the field, ETA-based schedule monitoring, and two-way ERP integration that keeps the school's ERP platform and the IPTech solution in continuous sync. Parents, drivers, and school staff stay aligned through dedicated mobile apps with a dual-language (Arabic/English) experience.

The Challenge

AlHussan Education Group operates 250 school buses across 13 schools, transporting 4,000 students daily. Without real-time attendance, parents had no way of confirming a child had boarded or when they would arrive. Student transport records — route assignments, subscriptions, timetables — lived in the school's ERP system, with no automated link to the bus operation. When a student's record changed, transport staff updated two systems manually. Driver schedule compliance was based on driver reporting rather than GPS verification. With 13 schools on different routes and 4,000 students, coordinating parent communication, driver dispatch, and school administration through disconnected tools was producing daily friction.

Our Solution

IPTech deployed a Smart School Bus platform across all 250 buses and 13 schools. Student commute monitoring with RFID records every boarding and alighting event, with real-time attendance visible to school monitors in the field. A two-way ERP integration keeps AlHussan's school management platform and the IPTech system in continuous sync — student record changes, subscription updates, and route reassignments flow automatically in both directions without manual entry. ETA-based schedule monitoring gives dispatchers and school staff real-time visibility on every bus position and estimated arrival. Parents, drivers, and monitors each have a dedicated mobile app in Arabic and English: the Parent App shows live bus location and sends arrival notifications; the Driver App handles job scheduling and route guidance; the Monitor App tracks student attendance on the bus. Door detection and passenger counting add a safety layer to every trip. Customised hardware workflow and event generation adapt the platform to AlHussan's specific operational requirements.

The Results

250 buses serve 4,000 students across 13 AlHussan schools under real-time GPS visibility. Attendance is recorded in the field as students board and alight, eliminating the uncertainty parents previously experienced. The two-way ERP integration has automated student record synchronisation, removing the manual double-entry that previously burdened transport coordinators. Parents track their child's bus live through the Arabic/English Parent App and receive automatic arrival notifications. The deployment supports 20 staff members managing operations across all 13 school sites.
