Snapshot
SABIC's employee transportation across the Eastern Region runs on 80 buses. IPTech deployed a full-fledged tracking and fleet management service and a full-fledged employee seat booking solution with subscription management integrated with Oracle ERP; passengers are identified by corporate badge and their subscription is linked to payroll; and the service is backed by a 4-hour response and 24/7/365 availability.

The Challenge
SABIC runs employee transportation across the Eastern Region on 80 buses, with a hard requirement that the tracking platform integrate directly with Oracle ERP and employee payroll. Without that integration, subscription management was manual — transport staff cross-referenced employee records by hand, payroll deductions required monthly reconciliation, and subscription status changes took days to propagate. Passenger identification relied on paper lists. There was no automated mechanism to link a boarding event to an active subscription or flag a lapsed one. SABIC needed a fleet tracking and seat booking platform that would eliminate manual data reconciliation and give operations complete schedule visibility.
Our Solution
IPTech deployed a full fleet management service across all 80 buses, with direct Oracle ERP integration connecting employee subscriptions, payroll deductions, and transport records in a single data flow. Passengers are identified at boarding via corporate badge readers — each boarding event is logged against the employee's active subscription and pushed to the ERP in real time. Seat booking is managed through a dedicated application that handles allocation, booking confirmation, and subscription status. CANBUS data feeds engine information into the platform for preventive maintenance. Schedule monitoring tracks operational compliance against the planned timetable with ETA calculations on every route. CCTV and door detection provide safety monitoring, with two-way voice communication between drivers and the operations centre. All hardware workflow and event generation is customised to SABIC's operational requirements, with customisable reports available to transport administrators.
The Results
SABIC's 80 Eastern Region buses run under real-time GPS visibility with full Oracle ERP integration. Passenger identification via corporate badge has made manual boarding lists obsolete. Subscription management — including payroll linkage — is automated, eliminating monthly reconciliation work. Transport administrators manage seat allocation, subscription status, and route compliance from a single platform. The service runs under a 4-hour response SLA with 24/7/365 availability, supported by an IPTech team based in the Eastern Region.
