DTM Collection and PACTware

The VEGA DTM Collection is the free adjustment software for all communication-capable VEGA instruments. The software package consists of PACTware, the VEGA DTMs, the VEGA DataViewer, and various standard communication DTMs. PACTware is a multi-manufacturer supported software frame for DTM-based setup, adjustment, diagnosis, and documentation of field devices. The VEGA DTMs connect to both field devices and controllers, displaying the complete device capability in an easy-to-use graphical format. A Bluetooth driver enables wireless communication with Bluetooth-capable VEGA instruments like the display and adjustment module PLICSCOM. The full version DTM Collection has been available free of charge since October 2023.

WHAT'S INCLUDED

Complete Software Suite

Everything you need for instrument configuration and data management.

VEGA-DTM

The Device Type Manager is the actual adjustment module of the sensors and field components. It contains all device-specific data and functions of a sensor type, providing all graphic elements and dialogues needed for adjustment.

PACTware

A manufacturer and fieldbus independent software frame for operation and adjustment of all types of field instruments. DTMs from different manufacturers are integrated via the FDT 1.21/2.0/3.0 interface specification.

FDT Interface

Field Device Tool is a standardised software interface that describes the interaction between the DTM and the frame application. FDT regulates the exchange of data between components.

VEGA DataViewer

A powerful tool for analysing, displaying, managing, and archiving DTM data. Installed locally and can be linked to myVEGA for convenient cloud storage and access from any adjustment device.

DTM FUNCTIONS

Powerful Built-In Functions

VEGA DTMs include functions for instrument configuration, security, diagnostics, and data management.

Project Assistant
01

Project Assistant

The project assistant automatically identifies the connected instruments and integrates them into the PACTware project. All that is required is an online connection to the corresponding instruments.

Security & PIN
02

Security & PIN

To protect against unauthorised changes to set parameters, a sensor can be locked via a PIN. The lock applies to the display and adjustment module, DTM adjustment, and fieldbuses. With myVEGA, access codes and instrument codes can be stored securely and accessed from any device.

Diagnostics
03

Diagnostics

Comprehensive diagnostic capabilities including sensor status, measured value status, additional measured values (electronics or measuring cell temperature), HART communication status messages, drag pointer with min/max values including time, status signals according to NE 107 and VDI/VDE 2650, and instrument documentation as PDF.

Local Storage
04

Local Storage

The measured value memory in the instrument stores measured values over a certain period of time and can be read out later. The event memory saves all events such as error messages or parameter changes with date and time stamp, providing an overview of instrument status.

Backup & Restore
05

Backup & Restore

All important VEGA sensor data can be saved and restored over an unlimited period of time. Data can be saved locally on the end device or in myVEGA via a personal account, providing access on all end devices at any time via the VEGA website.

SETUP & COMMISSIONING

Easy Step-by-Step Setup

Configure your sensors through an intuitive guided process with the VEGA DTM software.

Application
1

Application

Adapt the sensor to the particular ambient conditions the measuring task operates under. Configure the medium type (liquid or bulk solid), select from appropriate media, choose the application type, and enter the vessel height or measuring range. Parameters are automatically optimized based on your selections.

Min/Max Adjustment
2

Min/Max Adjustment

Distance measuring devices determine the distance to the medium surface, not the actual filling level. In order to indicate the filling level, the measured distance must be assigned to the height of the medium as a percentage value. This calibration is then used to calculate the filling level in the container.

Linearisation
3

Linearisation

Required for all tanks where volume does not increase linearly with level. Available linearisation curves include: linear, horizontal round tank, and spherical tank. Flow devices supported: Palmer-Bowlus Flume, Venturi flume, trapezoidal weir, rectangular spillway, V-notch, and triangular spillway. A linearisation assistant supports complex tank geometries. Scaling allows display in litres, kilograms, or other units instead of percent.

Current Output & Display
4

Current Output & Display

Configure the current output to transfer measured values to an evaluation system such as a PLC, process control system, measured value display, or controller. For two-wire sensors, supply and measured value transmission use a common two-wire cable. The display settings let you select menu language, displayed measured variable, and measured value appearance.

DATA MANAGEMENT

Protect Your Configuration Data

Built-in tools for backup, documentation, and instrument memory management.

Protect Your Configuration Data

Backups & Recovery

Create and restore complete sensor configurations. Save parameterisation data locally or export for safekeeping.
